The following committees are still in need of volunteers:

SPONSORSHIP – Responsible for trying to find companies or individuals who would be willing to help sponsor the event. Having business connections is a plus, but anyone who would be willing to make contacts with possible sponsors would be wonderful.

ENTERTAINMENT/PHOTOGRAPHER – Based on our tropical theme, we are still looking for a band or entertainer who can provide us with a nice blend of tropical music and fun dancing music. We are also looking for a photographer to take pictures at the event and provide souvenir pictures for guests. This committee can also brainstorm for other ideas to add entertainment value to the evening.

DECORATING – Responsible for coordinating background décor, table centerpieces, etc. Member Sarah Smith has agreed to serve on the committee and could use a few more people.

AUCTION/RAFFLE ITEMS – Coordinate commitment and gathering of silent auction items and a large “big ticket” item to be raffled off. Need members who have connections to companies and individuals who can provide big ticket items and people who are willing to “hit the pavement” to collect items for the silent auction. Our success depends a great deal on the quality of auction items we can raise!

PROMOTION/PR – This is a very critical part of the event. We are looking for volunteer(s) who have some background in PR who can really promote this event with all media types. This event will be open to non-members and needs to be properly promoted. The big raffle item(s) tickets can also be sold before the event to anyone and should also be heavily promoted.

All of these committees are very important to the success of the gala. Keep in mind that if you are personally unable to serve on a committee, we would gladly like to hear from you if you are aware of others who could serve in these capacities or could volunteer free or discounted services so that we can raise even more money for our students!
